The University of Missouri Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute is forecasting net farm income to reach $177 billion this year. Record cattle prices and one-time government payments have been partially offset by lower crop prices. Those emergency payments are not expected to be available next year and FAPRI is projecting a $31 billion drop in net farm income in 2026.
