Justin Dagen, Karlstad, Minnesota, wrapped up his wheat harvest with average results. Attention now shifts to potatoes. When RRFN spoke with Karlstad, a polar vortex was bringing cool temperatures to the region “so we will be able to put some seed potatoes into long-term storage.” Dagan said the potato crop is showing a lot of potential, especially under irrigation. “We didn’t have any excessive rain throughout the season. We had nice half-inch or one-inch showers, so the crop looks good.”
