Despite a plethora of negative news in the marketplace, corn and soybean futures finished the month of August in positive territory. New crop corn futures are up 6.5 cents on the month and November soybeans are up more than 65 cents. October feeder cattle is up $34.30 for the month. It was a different story on Wall Street with the Dow down more than 1,200 points during August.
