Low grain prices are continuing to dampen economic activity across the ten-state region. The last Rural Mainstreet Index from Creighton University dropped below neutral growth for the sixth time this year in August. The index edged slightly higher in Minnesota and South Dakota over the past month and declined by nearly two points in North Dakota. The index tracking the price of farmland increased in all three states. Rural bankers are surveyed for this monthly report.
