The University of Minnesota-Crookston biennial Torch and Shield Awards have been presented to Tim Dufault of Crookston and Paul and Kathy Imle of Gonvick. Dufault is an alumnus of UMC and a member of the Northwest Research and Outreach Center advisory committee and UMC Campus Advisory and Advancement Board. Dufault recently retired from farming. Paul and Kathy Imle own Pine Lake Wild Rice Farm and own a private foundation that provides college scholarships to high school graduates from northern Clearwater County. The Imle family is also a philanthropic partner of UMC.
