Harold Wolle, past president of the National Corn Growers Association, says federal policy decisions are crucial to boosting corn demand. Speaking at Farmfest, Wolle emphasized the need for a solid biofuels policy that supports domestic feedstocks and trade agreements that ensure corn products reach overseas markets. Wolle also urged lawmakers to pass a complete farm bill, noting important programs like the Conservation Reserve Program and rural development were left out of recent legislation. “There’s a whole host of items in those additional titles of the farm bill that weren’t addressed in the reconciliation bill, and they’re important for Rural America.” Listen to the interview.
