Minnesota Soybean Growers Association President Darin Johnson took part in a panel discussion at Farmfest about the importance of trade and export markets. “When we have 50 percent of our soybeans being exported, obviously, trade is first and foremost for us, so we’re making sure that we’re getting some of these trade deals done and that they’re good trade deals.” A tariff strategy is front and center for the Trump administration. “Tariffs are used as a trade or negotiating tactic,” Johnson told RRFN. “Is it always the perfect way to do it? No, I don’t think so, but it’s a way that hopefully we can get the process done a little bit quicker and get some good deals made for Minnesota soybean growers.” Listen to the interview.
