The winter wheat harvest near Great Falls, Montana, is experiencing some delays due to the weather. “We’ve had a lot of hail just recently, and I am dealing with a lot of sawfly issues,” said Steve Sheffels, who farms in that area. “We’re not quite a quarter done with the wheat, and then we’ve got to do the barley and the peas. It’s going slow because of the wet straw. We’re getting maybe 60 to 70 percent of what we would normally get on a harvest day into the bin, because we have to go so slow to get the straw processed.”
