A series of trade deals was announced this past week. NDSU Extension Crops Economist Frayne Olson sees the framework agreement with the European Union as significant for agriculture. “The European Union one is important because there are some ag products we sell, beef, ethanol, some sugar and other things that go from the U.S. into the European market.” Much of the attention with trade negotiations is in the areas where there is more disagreement, like automobiles.”Agriculture is part of this, but it’s not necessarily the headline news or the big issue that’s being focused on in many negotiations.”
