Senate Ag Committee Hearing Scheduled

The Senate Agriculture Committee will review the new USDA reorganization plan in a hearing on Wednesday. Deputy Agriculture Secretary Stephen Vaden is scheduled to testify on Wednesday. Agriculture Committee Chair John Boozman and Ranking Member Amy Klobuchar have both voiced disappointment that the news wasn’t shared ahead of the announcement. Klobuchar also called the reorganization ‘a half-baked’ idea.
