After not being labeled for use this growing season, dicamba may be available again in 2026 for over-the-top applications. The EPA has opened a 30-day public comment period for use on dicamba-tolerant soybeans and cotton. Nine mitigation measures are included in the EPA proposal, including a 240-foot downwind buffer, the use of an approved drift reduction agent and pH buffering volatility reduction agent. Public comments will be accepted until August 22. The next step would be EPA’s registration review and an Endangered Species Act review.
