North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced a $300,000 grant for drone detection of noxious weeds, focusing on sugarbeet and soybean fields in five North Dakota counties during the 2025–2026 seasons. Led by Grand Farm, the project aims to identify amaranth species like waterhemp, create a detailed image library, and improve weed control response. Collected data will remain confidential and shared only at the county level.
