The Minnesota State Cattlemen’s Association held its annual summer beef tour in Little Falls, showcasing a variety of innovative operations across the region. MSCA Executive Director Kaitlyn Root says this event is a highlight for producers from across the state. “It’s a super fun day. You can learn a lot to bring back to your operation. That’s what a lot of folks like about this. You usually learn at least one thing each year, but not only just the learning opportunities, but getting to know other farmers and ranchers in this state is super valuable for everyone.” The tour featured stops at cow-calf operations, feedlots, and a sunflower farm that feeds cattle with processing byproducts. Next year’s tour location is still undecided, and Root says suggestions are welcome.
