More than 360 participants from around the world are attending the first-ever USA Pulses Summit in Spokane, Washington. USA Pulses CEO Tim McGreevy says the event is a milestone for the industry. “We are the leading voice in all things pulses in the United States,” said McGreevy. “We have the most important buyers of beans, peas, lentils, and chickpeas in the world attending this event.” With more than 160 international guests in attendance, the summit reflects growing global demand for U.S. pulse crops. McGreevy says the organization is setting bold goals for the future. “We want to double consumption and production of these nutritious, healthy, and sustainable foods,” he said. “Our long-term goal is to make peas, lentils, chickpeas, and dry beans a must-have food, not only in everyone’s diet, but also in farm fields throughout the United States.”
