Wet weather is causing more crop disease problems, especially for soybeans. “Rhizoctonia is a significant problem on many crops, and the same one that affects sugarbeets can also affect soybeans and damage them heavily,” said University of Minnesota Extension Plant Pathologist Dean Malvick said. “Another one that people have been seeing more of in recent years is Phytophthora root and stem rot on soybeans. That particular disease can kill plants throughout the season.”
