At New Salem, North Dakota, Andrew Doll is praising the community for its assistance with the cleanup following the June 20th storm. Straight-line winds destroyed a calving barn and a free-stall barn. Machinery was tossed around, and crops were damaged. “The soybeans planted into corn stubble, it seems like the wind picked up the corn trash and sheared the beans off at ground level.” The Doll family is now weighing the options for the future. “That farm is my Mom and Dad’s, and they’re in their late 60s; a decision hasn’t been made yet, but there’s a lot of hard conversations going on right now about the future of what to do there.” Listen to the full interview.
