University of Minnesota Extension will host a Cover Crop Field Day at the Southwest Research and Outreach Center in Lamberton on Thursday. “There are a lot of benefits you can get from having a cover crop out there,” said Liz Stahl, Extension educator. “They can help reduce soil erosion from wind and moisture retention later in the season.” The goal of the event is to help farmers develop a cover crop management system. “That’s what we’re going to highlight at our cover crop field day, setting farmers up for success.” Pre-registration and more information can be found at z.umn.edu/covercropfieldday.
