President Trump and Fed Chair Jerome Powell met in the Oval Office on Thursday for about 30 minutes. In the meeting, Trump told Powell it is a mistake to not lower interest rates. After the meeting, the Federal Reserve released a statement, saying the central bank makes interest rate decisions based solely on ‘careful, objective and non-political analysis.’
