In many cases, the combination of 90-degree temperatures, strong winds and near-freezing temps made the newly emerged corn look tough. In the Pioneer Agronomy Update, Pioneer Strategic Account Manager Cole Ehrlin said it is important to remember that the growing point on a corn plant is below ground and protected until the V5 to V6 stage. “So with that last week of growing conditions and nice GDU accumulation, we’re already seeing corn fields rebound nicely.” Listen to the report.
