North Dakota farmers had 2.5 days suitable for fieldwork last week, with most topsoil and subsoil moisture rated adequate to surplus. Corn, soybeans, spring wheat, oats, canola, dry edible peas, barley, sunflowers, and potatoes are all progressing ahead of the five-year averages in planting and emergence. Spring wheat condition is rated 36 percent good or excellent, oats 43 percent good or excellent, barley 55 percent good or excellent, and corn 48 percent. Soybeans are 58 percent planted and 12 percent emerged. Canola is 54 percent planted, with 22 percent emerged, dry edible peas are 84 percent planted and 51 percent emerged, sunflowers are 36 percent planted, and potatoes are 69 percent planted, with 17 percent emerged. Pasture and range conditions are mostly fair to good.
