As new Trump tariffs take effect globally, Pro Farmer Washington consultant Jim Wiesemeyer warned of economic fallout and market uncertainty. “Yeah, there’s going to be some pain both from the inflationary impacts of this and to the U.S. and the world economy.” Wiesemeyer noted the outcome may depend on how many countries choose to negotiate tariff reductions with the administration. Export sales will be closely watched in the coming weeks: “The traders are going to start watching for export sales cancellations now because a number of countries could cancel previously purchased U.S. commodities.”
