NextEra Energy Resources has dropped its plan to build a fertilizer plant in the Spiritwood, North Dakota area. In a statement to the Jamestown Sun, NextEra officials said the final Treasury Department guidance on the hydrogen production tax credit was a primary factor in the decision. The State of North Dakota had $125 million available as a forgivable loan if the project had been completed.
