Union workers at East Coast and Gulf Coast ports have approved a new labor deal. The six-year deal includes a 62 percent pay raise and addresses the threat of automation. The International Longshoremen’s Association walked off the job for three days last fall for their first coastwide strike in nearly 50 years.
