The governing body for the Minnesota State Fair has approved key capital improvements. The largest project is a $22 million update to the Lee & Rose Warner Coliseum. That’s the centerpiece for youth and open-class livestock and horse exhibitions at the fair. The Minnesota State Agricultural Society is also bumping admission tickets and parking fees for 2025. Former University of Minnesota Extension Educator Chuck Schwartau was elected to honorary life membership in the Society. Schwartau began his involvement with the Minnesota State Fair in 1963 as a 4-H swine exhibitor. He was a 4-H judge, managed livestock and dairy shows and served as president of the Minnesota Federation of County Fairs.
