One of the casualties of the congressional battle over a short-term spending bill was ethanol. An earlier version of the bill included language allowing year-round availability of 15 percent ethanol blends. National Corn Growers Association President Kenneth Hartman Jr. said “this no-cost provision would have provided a market-driven solution” to low corn prices.
