USDA and the Health and Human Services Department have released the latest Dietary Guidelines for Americans. The report, which is conducted every five years, considers everything from the consumption of processed foods to weight management. It calls for the consumption of more fruits and vegetables, legumes, whole grains and seafood and less red meat and sugar-sweetened foods. One example is promoting plant-based protein over red meat.
