The corn yields in northern Minnesota’s University of Minnesota Extension variety trials did well. “The trials were done at Crookston and the average yield of the trial was a little under 200 bushels an acre which is quite good, much better than a lot of the other parts of the state,” said Extension Agronomist Jeff Coulter. Consistent performance is key. “We can’t predict what next year’s weather or growing conditions will be like, so the best luck is to find hybrids that are performing consistently.”
