The American Lamb Board’s mission is to grow awareness and demand for American lamb. It was a successful year. “We’re seeing an increase in the consumption of American lamb,” said Jeff Ebert, ALC chairman. Applications for the ALB Cooperative Funding Program are reviewed twice a year to effectively and efficiently allocate funds that will have the greatest impact. “With our limited budget, we have to be selective in how we spend our dollars.” The lamb checkoff’s Smart Climate Commodities Grant recipients will be announced on December 15. “We’re selecting 150 producers and what we’re doing is assessing carbon and gashouse emissions. Going from that, producers will have to provide data that we’ll use to build a system for other producers interested in carbon reduction.” Listen to the full interview here.
