With Republican leadership rejecting Senate Agriculture Committee Debbie Stabenow’s farm bill proposal, all eyes are looking toward another extension. “I certainly don’t think it changes for lame duck purposes, the money question,” said South Dakota Corn Growers Association Executive Director DaNita Murray. “There’s certainly talk about providing some type of assistance for folks who are impacted by hurricanes and natural disasters. I fully expect that appropriators will find that money.” Murray believes economic assistance should be considered. “I know there’s suffering out there that we are a little worried will continue into 2025.”
