The American Farm Bureau Federation found some positives in Chair Stabenow’s farm bill text. “There is an increase in reference prices, there is more funding for conservation programs at USDA,” said Joe Gilson, government affairs director. Moving forward, bipartisanship will be key. “The next Congress looks like Republicans will have a very slim majority in the House and you still need 60 votes in the Senate to get a farm bill done.”
