A majority of soybeans grown in the Dakotas are exported to Southeast Asia. “The meal exports have increased in that part of the world,” emphasized Mike McCranie, who farms at Claremont, South Dakota and is a member of the U.S. Soybean Export Council. “We have big increases in three major countries; the Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia.” McCranie expects soybean meal exports to get a boost from the increase in crush facilities throughout the Upper Midwest.
