Senate Bill Fails to Address Prop 12 Concern

The National Pork Producers Council is disappointed in Senate Agriculture Committee Chair Debbie Stabenow’s farm bill text. Stabenow’s proposal does not address California’s Proposition 12 which mandates specific housing standards on pork production. Without that language, NPPC President Lori Stevermer said the Stabenow proposal is not a viable option.
