The North Dakota Stockmen’s Association and North Dakota Stockmen’s Foundation have launched a disaster relief fund to help offset losses from the fires in western North Dakota. “Everybody that’s here isn’t out of danger yet even though these fires are put out,” reports North Dakota Stockmen’s Foundation President Jason Lieseth. An initial contribution of $50,000 has been made in the Out of the Ashes Wildfire Disaster Relief Fund and invites others to contribute to the effort. The money raised will be distributed in its entirety to North Dakota cattle ranchers this winter after going through an application and nomination process. Donations can be made online.
