The Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative sugarbeet harvest shut down for a portion of the past week while it waited for cooler temperatures to return. “A lot of areas have just kept doing rounds of preharvest at a small amount just to keep factories running,” said Carson Klosterman, Wyndmere, North Dakota, who was harvesting corn in the meantime. “We have a good crop out there, it’d be nice to be able to put them on the shelf in good shape so they don’t spoil.”
