Gary Duffy, of Oldham, South Dakota says the corn is varied throughout the fields. “The corn that’s planted early looks really good, other than the spots where it was ponded. The spots that were planted later, it’s to be determined, but the warm weather towards the end of the summer has really helped.” Duffy is finishing up soybean harvest and hoping to get into the corn this week. Duffy says the area could use a short shot of rain. “Yeah, it’s going to slow down harvest, but I think it’s going to make things a lot safer as far as the fire goes.”
