USDA Announces Results of Soybean Request for Referendum

USDA says a referendum on the soybean checkoff will not be conducted. The decision is the result of a request for referendum held in May. The Soybean Promotion, Research and Consumer Information Act requires the Secretary of Agriculture to conduct the request for referendum every five years to determine if growers want to continue the checkoff. Out of 413,000 soybean producers nationwide, 229 submitted requests for the referendum.
