Soybean harvest is beginning in the Lake Preston, South Dakota area. “I’m hoping to get a 50-to-55 (bushel per acre) average but we’ll see when we get in there,” said Paul Casper. “Mother Nature took care of us through the summer so we’ve been pretty lucky that way.” The wet spring cut into the acres planted. With the corn remaining, Casper does not expect anything exceptional.
