The excessive rain at the end of the spring wheat harvest is causing quality concerns. Valley United Co-op General Manager Paul Coppin says it is critically important to know your wheat quality. “You know we have some issues with what you have in the bin right now,” said Coppin. “Number One, take care of it, keep air on it, and maintain what you have so it doesn’t go down in quality further.” Coppin believes the market will eventually adapt to the quality of wheat in the bin and the discounts may not be as bad down the road.”
