Legislation to keep AM radio in the dashboard of your car or pickup is on its way to the House floor. The House Energy and Commerce Committee voted 45-to-two Wednesday. The availability of AM radio in vehicles was jeopardized by major automobile manufacturers. The bill passed in a key Senate committee over a year ago and still awaiting floor action in the Upper Chamber. There is a sense of urgency with little time on the congressional calendar. AM radio is a lifeline for rural communities during an emergency. It also provides agriculture news, local information, local sports and more. The Red River Farm Network encourages you to let your lawmakers know the importance of AM radio and push this bill over the finish line this year.
