Nitrogen was lost during the wet months of May and June. “That’s going to most likely affect yield,” said Pivot Bio Agronomist Dan Grefsrud. Pivot Bio’s microbial nitrogen compliments synthetic nitrogen sources. “You have another form that you can rely on and if we start moving some of that synthetic (nitrogen) through the profile, our Pivot Bio microbe will still be on the road. It’s a naturally found soil microbe, but we have edited that microbe to fix more nitrogen in the presence of nitrogen in the field so we truly are a more efficient producer of nitrogen.”
