Portland, North Dakota farmer Greg Thykeson started combining wheat before the rains hit this past week. “The bushels are there. We’re still hanging on to quality,” said Thykeson. “All in all it looks like it’s going to be a really nice wheat crop.” Thykeson says the spring was ideal for small grains as long as they could keep the disease out of it.
