At the Root Connections event in Gilby, North Dakota, Grand Forks County Extension Agent Katelyn Landeis talked about how important getting people out on the farm is for urban communities. “We’ve got 72,000 people that live in Grand Forks County that have maybe never been to a farm. It’s a way to help connect the public with agriculture.” Landeis also suggested that the event is good for farmers to learn what the public wants to know about farming.
