White mold fungus is expected to be quite active with the intermittent rains and relatively mild summer temperatures seen in recent weeks. In the NDSU Crop and Pest Report, Extension Plant Pathologist Wade Webster said the northern regions of the state are at the highest risk for white mold development. Other pockets of North Dakota are at moderate risk. Fungicide application is an effective tool for managing white mold.
