The Texas winter wheat harvest is nearing the finish line. Texas Wheat Producers Director of Policy Steelee Fischbacher says their harvest is finished except for small pockets that received recent rains. “Most of the wheat is now in the bin.” Outside of some trouble spots in east Texas, quality is termed good or very good. Not surprisingly, the yields for irrigated wheat shined. “We had a lot of 80-plus bushels, some coming in around 100, some very good yields for areas around the Panhandle.”
