Farmer’s National Company Northern Area Vice President Terry Longtin doesn’t expect that to change any time soon. “We’ll see it in pockets, but the average to good land is holding strong, but I would not say it’s increasing.” Longtin anticipates no change in farmland rental values. “Overall, we have a good crop coming. Commodity prices have weakened and yet it appears land rents are probably going to hold pretty firm as we go into late ’24 and early ’25 based on what we know today.”
