Global Commodity Analytics and Consulting President Mike Zuzolo says the big question remaining from the June 30th acreage report is how many acres will be abandoned or not planted. “USDA put 4.8 million more planted acres in Iowa and Minnesota combined versus the March estimate,” said Zuzolo. “You’ve got to wonder how much of that’s going to be harvested at this stage of the game. I think the trade is starting to wake up to that idea, but you can’t get too excited about the price action shift yet.”
