Growing Degree Units have been slow to increase this year. In this week’s Pioneer Agronomy Update, Pioneer Field Agronomist Eric Lagge said the number of GDUs are down drastically from a year ago. “On the bright side, if we see a few weeks of warm weather in July, we can potentially catch back up to where we hope to be.” For yield, Lagge said it is important the corn is not stressed during this point in the growing season.
