Governor Kristi Noem is highlighting agriculture’s important role in South Dakota. The Governor’s Office released a column saying ag contributes more than $32 billion to the state’s economy. It says precision agriculture and value-added agriculture as the key sectors for the South Dakota economy to grow and develop. Noem said she is proud South Dakota has more cows-per-person than any other state. The dairy industry was also cited as one of the state’s fastest-growing economic engines.
