In the latest Pioneer Agronomy Update, Pioneer Field Agronomist Larry Lunder said frequent rain events have resulted in planting delays for soybeans and sunflowers. “The weather has also had the effect in the form of some really high winds which resulted in some replants in soybeans and canola,” said Lunder. “Since the plants were cut off at the soil surface in both of those crops, the growing point will emerge with the plant whereas in grasses, like corn and small grains, the growing point remains below the surface for the first few weeks of development.” Listen to the update.
