The spring has been nearly ideal for cereal crops and canola. “We have a real good year going; the crop is up and out of the ground and stands are pretty decent,” said Dan Melaas, district sales manager, BASF. The white mold risk should be a top-of-mind for canola growers. “Make sure you’re scouting and if it is wet when you get out into those fields at 10 o’clock in the morning, you have the potential for white mold.” Application should happen when the crop is at 20-to-40 percent flowering. Melaas said Endura fungicide is an industry-leading fungicide and should be in the plan to reduce disease pressure. Listen to the full interview.
